The Ecology Greenhouse at Jean H. Langenheim Greenhouses

THE ECOLOGY GREENHOUSE AT THE JEAN H. LANGENHEIM GREENHOUSES

The Jean H. Langenheim Greenhouses (on the rooftop of the Thimann Labs building) are primarily used for instructional purposes. The Ecology Greenhouse at this location is available for research, restoration, or rare plant growing use on an as-needed basis. This location is ideal for experiments such as plant-insect interaction studies and seed bank studies which require close to ambient conditions yet protection from rain and extreme cold in the winter months.

This facility has a large headhouse ideal for class projects or for groups setting up experiments. There are two Conviron E-15 Growth Chambers and two Percival I-35LLVL Incubators located here. Although their primary function is for instruction, they may also be used for research.
